Surplus German Fireman Helmet

I've been looking at these helmets for a few years. There are likely a pile of them out there as they have been replaced with ISO quality equipment. I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of my helmet. No nicks or dings. Some marks on the paint and that persistent storage of leather smell that Fabrese deal so well with. It was actually in pretty good shape. The helmet is actually aluminium not plastic. the liner is adjustable to a wide range of sizes including my "Sniper's Dream" size of 60 cm. The paint is definitely glow in the dark though it fades quickly. My plan is to strip the paint and repaint in another colour anyway. Be advised that the suspension liner system is attached with a slotted bolt and a 5 mm Allen key nut on the inside. I found that using the Allen Key to loosen the nut worked better than trying to get the slotted bolt to play along. All in all a great product well worth the cost.
